Terry W. Ervin

My Dad

What child isn't influenced by their father? He lost his battle with cancer in August of 2007. He is and will continue to be missed by both his family and friends.

His influence has carried over into my writing. In my novel, Relic Tech, there are bits of him in Kra and in Flank Hawk, some of his personality echoes in that of Road Toad.

My father's favorite hymn: Amazing Grace

Bill Justice

Friend

I met Bill in college. He was an outgoing, a bit on the 'wildside' friend. Getting to know him, I came to view the world in a different light. He started the 14th OVI Civil War Reenactment group, and I was his first recruit. I served as the best man at his wedding as he did mine. We laughed together, gamed together, and weathered some of life's struggles together. Cancer took him all too soon.

One can see a number of his personality traits in Relic Tech's Corporal Smith.

Darla Boram

Friend and Coworker

Darla was an outgoing woman who was dedicated to her family and to teaching. As a fellow English teacher, she took chances and paved the way, which I sometimes followed in her wake. Ever undaunted, she modeled for me when and where to take a chance and see what happens. She was one of my 'readers' and working on a novel herself, when a heart attack took her all too soon.

Some of Darla comes through in Flank Hawk's Lilly.

Schelly Steelman

Friend and Crit Partner
Schelly was a founding member of Elysian Fields and she strong influence on my early writing efforts. I miss her wit and insight.

A fatal asthma attack cut short her promising writing career.

Here is a link to her first novel: The Green Temple.
