Relic
Tech
UPDATE (October 2005) Submitted Relic Tech
to Baen Books. Anticipated month of reply is November 2006 if they pass,
longer if they have an interest. Jim Baen passed away over the
summer from an unexpected stroke and that has slowed down their
turnaround time.

UPDATE ( November 2006) Relic Tech has
merited a full read by the "slush pile" gate keeper. If she likes
it, Relic Tech will be passed on to the Managing Editor, who
would read it and say "Yes" or "No" to offering a publishing
contract. No news is good news in this case, and will probably take
another year. Odds are still quite long, but the first major hurdle
(out from the thousands of manuscripts in the slush pile) has been
achieved.
UPDATE (February 2007) Still waiting a
second full read.
UPDATE (March 2008) "Under consideration by
Upper Management."
UPDATE (September 2008) Baen's Executive
Editor has begun reading and considering the top 10 slush
submissions from the last 3-4 years that are on her desk--including
Relic Tech.
UPDATE (January 2009) Baen's Executive
Editor has passed on several manuscripts in the pile, but not
Relic Tech.
UPDATE (May 2009) Relic Tech is still
awaiting its read by Baen's Executive Editor.
UPDATE (June 2011) Relic Tech is still
awaiting its read by Baen's Executive Editor. Spoke with Toni Toni
Weisskopf briefly about Relic Tech at ConCarolinas 2011.
UPDATE (June 2012) Relic Tech is still
awaiting its read by Baen's Executive Editor. Spoke with Gray
Rinehart, Consulting Editor/Slushmaster General about Relic Tech at ConCarolinas 2012.
UPDATE (January 2013) Relic Tech has
been handed off to editor Tony Daniel and
awaiting his attention according to Gray
Rinehart, Consulting Editor/Slushmaster General.
So, what is my Science Fiction novel about?
