Aberrant Dreams Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Supernatural Horror Publishes an ezine and end of year print anthology.

Aberrant Dreams looks for stories with a solid plot and good character development. Stories should grab the reader’s attention quickly. Stories should be original and not a rehash of tired old themes. If you do draw from an old theme, add a twist to make it unique.

Stories should be less than 10,000 words in length.

Aberrant Dreams pays 3 cents per word up to a maximum of $100.00 per accepted story submission. Additionally, this market provides the Author with one contributor’s copy of the printed anthology.

Pays $1.00 per line for poetry (up to 50 lines).

Publishes an ezine and end of year print anthology.

Anthology Builder Open Genre This publisher accepts fiction reprints from paying markets of up to 50,000 words. 

The accepted stories are organized and made available to readers so that they can pick and create an individualized print anthology.

Authors receive a % of the royalties based on the fraction of pages their story (or stories) make up of the total page count.

Anthology Builder is a new market and currently in beta testing, but shows great promise.

Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest Science Fiction Seeks dark science fiction, usually with a horror element.  Sometimes accepts straight science fiction. Prefers works 10,000 words or less.

Pays 2 cents a word plus two contributor copies (will be moving up to 2.5 cents per word with issue #13).

Asimov's Science Fiction

Science Fiction Asimov's Science Fiction magazine is a well established market for science fiction stories. They pay on acceptance, and beginners get 6.0 cents a word to 7,500 words, 5.0 cents a word for stories longer than 12,500 words, and $450 for stories between those lengths. Asimov's Science Fiction rarely buy stories longer than 15,000 words.

They pay $1 a line for poetry, which shouldn't exceed 40 lines.

Note: Expect to wait longer than the posted time in the guidelines.

Clarksworld Magazine Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction This market pays 10 cents per word with a firm limit of 4000 words. 

They have an extensive list of themes/topics that they are not interested in, so check out the guidelines carefully.

Dark Wisdom Dark Fiction (Fantasy, SF, Horror) Publishes a quarterly print magazine 

The important ingredient for publication in Dark Wisdom is originality, and well-written stories of dark fiction that examine the human condition.

This market prefers stories of 5,000 words or less. They pay 5 cents  per word for fiction and for poetry.

Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine Science Fiction and Fantasy A long-standing, highly competitive market. Accepts works up to 25,000 words in length and pays 6 to 9 cents per word.
Fantasy Magazine Fantasy An online magazine that pays three cents per word..

They seek fantasy works from 1000 up to 6000 words.

Futurismic Science Fiction An online market that seeks contemporary near future Science Fiction.  Up to 15,000 words. Prefers longer than 2000 words.

Pays $200.00 on acceptance.

Glimmer Train Fiction Leans towards literary type works and pays $700 per story accepted.
Heliotrope Magazine Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery and Horror Seeks exceptional works up to 5000 words and poetry. This market and pays 10 cents per word for fiction and $50 for poetry (they publish one poem per issue)..
Jim Baen's Universe Science Fiction A highly competitive market, paying from 6 to 25 cents per word, based on writing experience and name recognition.  Can submit directly or through the Universe Slush conference at Baen's Bar.
Murdaland: Crime and Fiction for the 21st Century Crime and Mystery This market is looking for finely crafted tales of crime, dissipation, violence, dread, lust, greed and all manner of mayhem. Murdaland stories need not contain a murder.

Shroud Magazine Horror, Dark Mystery, Dark Fantasy and Suspense Seeks Short Fiction up to 5000 words, Flash Fiction and Serialized Novellas

Pays 2 to 5 cents per word (2 cents for anthology).

Sniplits Most genres An audio publication.

Accepts works from 100 to 8000 words in length. Pays $30 to $150 per story plus royalty potential.

Accepts reprints.

Spacesuits and Sixguns Magazine Detective, Horror, Mystery, Adventure, Science Fiction, Sword and Sorcery This online market is looking for works around 4000 words or less than have an emphasis on action.

It pays 3 cents a word up to $100.00 maximum.
Strange Horizons Speculative Fiction (Science Fiction or Fantasy) Strange Horizons publishes science fiction stories up to 5000 words in length.

They pay 5¢ per word for fiction with a minimum of $50.00 and $20.00 per poem

They occasionally close for submissions while catching up.
The Sun Magazine Fiction This magazine pays $300 to $750 for fiction, and $50 to $250 for poetry.
Withersin Magazine Horror At this time, Withersin is seeking original, polished works between 1,000 and 3,000 words. This market pays a rate of two to five cents per word.

No reprints, no simultaneous subs.

They ask for writing which disturbs us, scares us, and leaves us lingering with residual fear. Make us believe in something wicked just by reading your words… Avoid  from cliché' monotony, this means NO vampires, zombies, serial killers, unless done so originally.
