Pays 1 cent per word, up to a maximum of $50.00.

Escape Velocity Magazine Science Fiction This market desires hard SF stories with a slant toward the future human condition, or stories with future science as a main theme. Time travel, space exploration adventure, discovery or invention, if it's fresh, send it.

Accepts 1500 to 7500 word length, but the longer the piece, the harder the sell. Pays $10.00 + 1 contributor copy for fiction. In addition to print, one time rights for podcast are sought for some stories.
Fear and Trembling Horror/Suspense, Dark Fiction

Prefers fiction under 3000 words. Submissions over 4000 words are considered very long by this market.

Futures Mystery Anthology Magazine Mystery This market publishes both print and downloadable PDF editions and offers a strong mixture of new and seasoned authors each issue.

FMAM considers stories from 500 to 10,000 words in length. Pays a flat rate of $5.00 per story. (Currently closed to submissions)

GlassFire Magazine Open Genre and Poetry A quarterly ezine with an anthology. 

Welcomes all genres but they are not looking for R rated material, so don't submit erotica or stories with unnecessary language or violence.

MindFlights SF and Fantasy A merger of Double-Edged Publishing's The Sword Review and Dragons, Knights and Angels.  Seeking Fantasy and Science Fiction stories and poetry.  Accepting submissions and begins publication in January of 2008

Pays 1/2 of a cent per word up to $25.00. Prefers works under 5000 words.

Mouth Full of Bullets Mystery An ezine that publishes both fiction and poetry that is branching out into paper as well as online editions of each issue.  Prefers works from 500 to 3000 words.

This market prefers mystery/suspense including police procedural, private eye, amateur sleuth, cozies and hardboiled. Basically, if it involves a crime and it's within the guidelines, don't hesitate to send it.

Payment is $10.00 to $20.00 for short stories, $3.00 to $10.00 for flash fiction and $2.00 to 5.00 for poetry.

Ramble Underground Literary A quarterly ezine that accepts poetry and fiction under 4000 words (preferred).

Pays $15.00 for short fiction.
Ray Gun Revival Science Fiction (including nonfiction/reviews and poetry) This market focuses on space opera and golden age science fiction. The content should be equivalent to PG-13.

Payment is $5.00 per story under 1500 words and $10.00 for over 1500 words. Poetry and nonfiction pays $5.00.

Shimmer Speculative Fiction This online market is interested in  urban fantasy, magical realism, fairy tale retellings, character-driven SF, cyberpunk, and horror stories.

They pay 1 cent per word, with a minimum of $10.00 and a maximum of $30.00.  They strongly prefer stories of 5000 words or less.

Shred of Evidence Mystery, Crime and Suspense Fiction The categories of fiction accepted include all subgenres and cross-genre stories.

Accepts flash fiction (under 1000 words), short fiction (1000 to 21,000 words with 2000-6000 words are ideal) and serials (22,000 or more).

Pays $10.00 for short fiction, $5.00 for flash and reprints, and $30.00 to $50.00 for serials.

Sinister Tales Literary Horror/Gothic Tales, Poetry Accepts flash fiction to 20,000 words, but prefers 5000 to 7000 words.

Talebones Science Fiction and Dark Fantasy A print market that accepts fiction up to 6000 words. Does not want horror.  Pays 1-2 cents per word.

For poetry pays a flat rate of $10.00

Third Order Mainstream, Experimental, Speculative Fiction Seeks fiction that deals with religion and faith. See guidelines for specifics.

Pays $20 for fiction up to 4000 words and $30.00 for fiction up to 10,000 words.

The Storyteller All Genres It is a family magazine and submit accordingly in fiction, non-fiction, essays and poetry.

Accept shorts up to 2500 words and acquires first North American rights only.

Send complete manuscript with cover letter. Please include your name, address and phone number on the first page of manuscript, along with an accurate word count.

Pays ¼ cent per word.

The Thrilling Detective Mystery This market seeks fiction up to 10,000 words, with 7000 to 8000 being about right for them (most of the time).

The story must be about a Private Eye. See guidelines for specifics, including 'thundering clichés'.

Pays $15.00 for fictional stories.

The Town Drunk Lighthearted Humor (Various Genres) This market publishes lighthearted and humorous short stories that contain an element of science fiction, fantasy, horror or the supernatural.

Length of the work must be from 500 to 5000 words. Payment is a flat rate of $35.00.
